Root Canal Therapy at our Hamilton Dental Clinic

Main West Dental provides root canal treatments at our dental office

Our dental office provides complete examinations for root canal therapy. Our dentists and staff are extremely experienced in providing our patients with attentive care during their root canal treatment.

What is a root canal?

A root canal can form when a tooth experiences a trauma or a cavity is left untreated for too long, and the nerve / blood supply can become infected.

During the root canal procedure at our Westdale dental clinic, affected dental pulp and damaged nerves are removed to prevent infection from spreading and the canal is then filled. As a result, you won’t have sensation when food touches the filled tooth. Typically, patients adapt within two or three days.

When is a root canal necessary?

A root canal procedure is often needed if the nerves within the tooth are infected. When the tooth is infected, you’ll feel the pain right in the root of your tooth. Below are three shared issues which may result in requiring a root canal:

  • Tooth infections
  • Trauma
  • Tooth decay

If you think you might need a root canal, you can schedule a consultation with our dental office.
